I first met Laurel at Found for Local Love in Bloom, and noted her eye for design and artistry. We talked a bit and I discovered she was an artist friend of my friend Megan and did some of the nursery art from this session (you can see it in the second pic!). Oh, and she also happens to be a BA food blogger, Sweet Laurel. Yeah, I said it.
Laurel asked me to take some portraits for her, and I was so excited. And nervous. It can be hard when someone has such an amazing artistic eye and vision to then make their vision come to life. I was really nervous going into this shoot, but when someone tells you “I’ma make you some biscuits”, it’s like all the anxiety melts away like butter. Or amazing homemade lemon curd. Ones of those two. A HUGE thank you to the sweetest friend Heather for letting us use her gorgeous kitchen. I’m finally sending off a couple rolls of film with with images of this session too, which I can’t wait to get back and share! In the meantime, check out Laurel’s blog and get the recipe for these decadent Sweet Lemon Biscuits with Pistachio Glaze.
